Bucks cut ties with superstar, land Jalen Williams in proposed blockbuster trade

The Milwaukee Bucks have started the season with a record of 4-9. Khris Middleton has yet to appear in a game and remains without a timetable for his return.

Also, Damian Lillard has missed the last few games due to a concussion. Giannis Antetokounmpo has had an extreme workload while Bobby Portis and Gary Trent Jr. work through their shooting woes. Coach Doc Rivers has been forced to rely on younger talent, which has uncovered two useful contributors in AJ Green and Andre Jackson.

A team that entered the season with championship aspirations has quickly fallen on desperate times, and a significant change could be on the horizon.

Franchise cornerstone Antetokounmpo has repeatedly shut down any inkling of wanting out of Milwaukee and has remained committed to working through the team's challenges. However, if the situation were to exacerbate, the Greek Freak may be forced to reassess his loyal stance.

In the event of an Antetokounmpo trade request, the Oklahoma City Thunder appear to lead the league's suitors in terms of best possible trade package. Christopher Kline of FanSided recently proposed the following trade:

Bucks receive: Jalen Williams, Isaiah Hartenstein, Aaron Wiggins, Nikola Topic, and five first-round picks

Thunder receive: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Gary Trent Jr, and Delon Wright

The Thunder agree to this trade in order to cement themselves as the top two championship favorites. Kline adds that Oklahoma City general manager Sam Presti would still have relatively significant draft capital to use following this deal, writing, "OKC also happens to have enough trade ammo to engineer the above trade without completely emptying its stores...OKC would still have first-round picks to burn in another trade, should the right opportunity come around."

The Bucks would accept this offer from the Thunder because the handful of first-round picks would restock their lack of draft capital. Currently, they don't hold a first-round pick until 2031.

Williams would give the front office an intriguing building block as they presumably enter a rebuild. Meanwhile, Hartenstein is a 26-year old center who is effective on both ends of the court, and Aaron Wiggins is a 25-year old cromulent wing. Additionally, Topic would give Milwaukee's front office another young piece alongside Williams. The Serbian guard was selected with the 12th overall pick in the most recent draft. Unfortunately, the 19-year old dynamic guard suffered a torn ACL in late May and will miss the entire season.

Oklahoma City is clearly the most likely Milwaukee trade partner if Antetokounmpo were to request a trade.
