The Milwaukee Bucks have been playing the long game with Giannis Antetokounmpo, as it appears his time in Milwaukee may be slowly coming to an end. The Bucks were not particularly strong with Doc Rivers at the helm.

Last season, rumors that Antetokounmpo was involved in trade discussions were the loudest they had ever been. With Milwaukee not rushing to end the relationship, the reported asking price was originally set at five first-round picks.

“The Bucks were asking for at least five 1st-round picks in a Giannis Antetokounmpo trade, per Shams Charania. Milwaukee set an astronomically high price with Giannis not trying to force his way out at the deadline,” NBA reporter Evan Sidery posted.

With the offseason looming, it now seems more likely that the two sides could eventually part ways. This could be the time to make that move as Taylor Jenkins is coming in as the new head coach, and both sides may be open to exploring a trade.

“Sources tell me that the Milwaukee Bucks are fully open for business on trade calls and offers for Giannis Antetokounmpo,” ESPN’s Shams Charania said.

In a wild trade idea from Sidery, Jaylen Brown and Giannis Antetokounmpo are moved along with several young assets heading to Milwaukee for the future.

“A legal three-team Giannis Antetokounmpo trade framework involving the Bucks, Celtics and Hawks: Milwaukee receives: Dyson Daniels, Zaccharie Risacher, Jonathan Kuminga, No. 8 pick, 2027 1st returned, 2031 1st, 2033 1st. Boston receives: Giannis. Atlanta receives: Jaylen Brown,” Sidery wrote.

This would send the NBA world into a frenzy, as superstar talent would be changing scenery across the league. Brown to the Hawks would be a strong fit after they reached the playoffs last season.

The Bucks would receive the pieces needed to begin a rebuild, adding young players like Risacher, Daniels, and Kuminga. This would be a blockbuster deal and one of the most significant trades in league history.

All parties would be getting assets that better fit their timelines. It would also give Atlanta the opportunity for a much bigger offseason than originally expected. For Antetokounmpo, this could be the kind of move he ultimately wants.
