Bucks acquire pair of scorers, veteran center in proposed trade with 76ers

The Milwaukee Bucks will attempt to extend their win-streak to four games as they host the Philadelphia 76ers on Sunday night. The Bucks' offense has been flashing in their past three games despite a strangely mediocre season-long performance.

A rotation featuring MVP candidate Giannis Antetokounmpo surrounded by offensive-centric shooters in Damian Lillard, Khris Middleton, Bobby Portis, Brook Lopez, Gary Trent Jr, and AJ Green should be one of the better scoring units in the league. However, the Doc Rivers-led Bucks hold the league's 13th-highest scoring rotation.

Meanwhile, the Sixers just lost Joel Embiid for at least a week as their playoff hopes dwindle. The Bucks could benefit from some of the Sixers pieces as they head toward a tank. A deal between the two Eastern Conference foes could resemble the following proposal:

Bucks receive: Kelly Oubre, Andre Drummond, Eric Gordon

Sixers receive: Delon Wright, Pat Connaughton, MarJon Beauchamp, 2031 first-round pick, 2031 second-round pick

The Sixers would essentially be given draft capital to take on Connaughton's contract, while Wright's deal could be bought out. Furthermore, Beauchamp is on an expiring contract like Wright. However, since the Sixers are not aiming to compete this season due to injuries and disappointment, they could give the unproven Beauchamp some opportunity and reassess his future with the team in the offseason. At 24 years old, the former first-round pick could still grow into an impactful role.

Ideally for Milwaukee, Oubre and Gordon would provide sparks to the Bucks' relatively average offense. This season, Oubre is averaging 13.5 points, 5.9 rebounds, a career-high 1.6 assists, and a career-high 1.5 steals. The 29-year old wing is shooting just 28.3 percent from three on 4.3 attempts per game though. While only a 32.5 percent three-point shooter in his career, his shooting should experience slight regression during the second half of the season.

Despite his age, Gordon remains an effective floor-spacer as he can fire far beyond the three-point line. The 36-year old shooter is only playing about 18 minutes per game, but is shooting a respectable 36.2 percent from three on 3.2 attempts per game.

Additionally, Drummond can provide Rivers with a reliable backup to the 36-year old Lopez. While not the desired lob threat the Bucks have been seeking, the 31-year old center can be effective in limited minutes. This season, he has only converted seven alley-oops, while averaging 7.0 points, 7.7 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 19.2 minutes. Drummond and Rivers also have familiarity with each other dating back to Drummond's first stint in Philadelphia.
