For as much as things have changed for the Buccaneers over the past 50 years, they also remain the same.

Once considered lovable losers, Tampa Bay has quietly emerged as one of the NFC South's most formidable forces. The swashbuckling unit has two Super Bowls to its name as well as seven divisional crowns to its name—the latest of which came last year.

History has been kind to the Bucs. So it's only the right that the franchise is paying homage to its past—namely, its time in the most elegant of furs, its orange "Creamsicle" kits.

Here's what you need to know about Tampa Bay's retro uniforms, a Florida Orange number coated in 50 years of lore.

Buccaneers unveil 'new' alternate uniforms

On Tuesday, the Buccaneers took to social media to reveal their latest threads. They proved a familiar sight; Baker Mayfield, Mike Evans, Lavonte David and others were outfitted in the famous—and infamous—cream-colored kits from the 1976 season.

The jerseys are adorned with a faint amber garnish atop a mainly white surface. The helmet is a mural, paying tribute to another icon of Tampa Bay's past: Bucco Bruce, the winking pirate who was the organization's logo for 21 years.

The Bucs have worn iterations of the "Creamsicle" jersey before. This version is historic; however, it sees Tampa Bay return the original 1976 jersey design for the first time.

"The '76 Jersey represents a piece of Buccaneers history and serves as a tribute to the generations of fans and players who shaped this franchise," Bucs CEO Brian Ford said in the team's press release. "As we launch into our 50th season, we're proud to reintroduce The '76 Jersey and the tradition it embodies."

The Buccaneers only rocked cantaloupe for the 1976 season. Nevertheless, the look still has a cult following all its own.

Tampa Bay is returning to the well with its 2025 selection. The white road kits feature a commemorative patch to celebrate the uniform's 50th year anniversary. But other than that, it's a mirror image of the 1976 look, from the original sleeve pattern (one orange stripe sandwiched between two red ones) to the striped socks. The inside of the jersey collar includes another wrinkle: the phrase "Hey! Hey! Tampa Bay!" are stitched into the fabric, a reference to the team's first fight song, which debuted in 1979.

When will the Buccaneers wear their new uniforms?

The Bucs will sport their new kit in their Sept. 21 home opener against the Jets.
