Bubba Watson calls out LIV Golf fan after Lee Westwood’s routine gets interrupted

Bubba Watson lashed out at a fan during LIV Golf’s event in Indianapolis on Friday after the spectator screamed out during Lee Westwood’s pre-shot routine.

Watson was playing his round alongside Westwood and Bryson DeChambeau when the interaction with the fan occurred during the event at The Club at Chatham Hills. 

The fan shouted as Westwood went through his routine and forced him to step off the ball and look toward the spectator.

The clip then cuts to an agitated Watson shouting in the direction of the unruly fan. 

“Oh, you don’t want to say anything now? Say something, I’m looking at you, say it,” Watson said.

A voice could be heard saying back to the golfer, in a low tone, “I love you Bubba.” 

Watson stared the person down before eventually walking back toward the green. 

LIV’s event in Indianapolis is the tour’s final one of the season as it closes the book on a 2026 season filled with upheaval. 

The future of the rebel golf league has been in question for months after the Saudi Public Investment Fund announced that it would be pulling its financial backing following this season, which kicked off a push by LIV Golf CEO Scott O’Neil to secure new investment to keep the tour going. 

LIV announced earlier this month that it secured investment to keep the doors open, though there have still been plenty of questions and few details publicly released. 

Speaking on the LIV broadcast after Sunday’s final round, DeChambeau said that there was a “lot of potential moving forward” for the league. 

“I have great thoughts about what could happen next year,” he said. “I wish I could be more up front about it, but ultimately, I’m proud of the fact of what we’ve done. you know, the good and some of the bad that we’ve unfortunately had, things that have occurred, you know, I’m going to be real with it. You know, not everything was perfect, but for the most part, we’ve done a solid job.

“And if there’s one thing that I could say is, you know, we did something different in the game of golf and I’m proud of that.”
