Bryson Beaver explains Oregon commitment, new 'Platypus' nickname

Last week, the Oregon Ducks secured their quarterback on the future with Vista Murrieta (California) four-star prospect Bryson Beaver.

The 6-foot-3, 200-pound signal-caller is one of the highest-risers at any position in the country thanks to his performances at the Elite 11 Regionals and Finals.

On this week's "Recruiting with Andrew Nemec," on ESPN-affiliate 1080 The Fan, Beaver joined the show to discuss his sudden rise up the rankings, how he decided to go to Oregon and how he has suddenly earned the tongue-in-cheek nickname "Platypus" from the Oregon coaching staff.

Overall, Oregon's 2026 recruiting class is ranked No. 22 nationally, but is narrowing in on several commitments and could make a jump near the top-10 in the rankings.
