During the Cleveland Browns' interview process for their head coach opening, it was reported that the Browns were conducting testing for each candidate.
The Browns' testing went viral, as fans speculated on what some of the questions could be. But, now that Todd Monken was hired (seemingly acing the Browns test), one of the questions was revealed.
According to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated, the Browns reportedly asked candidates for their thoughts on Shedeur Sanders. But, more specifically, they were asked how they plan to develop the young Colorado QB going forward.
Browns asked HC candidates how they'd develop Shedeur Sanders
"There's another layer that we can now peel back on the Browns' testing," Breer writes. "One of the six questions on the test, I'm told, was 'How would you develop Shedeur Sanders?' (He was one of three players specifically mentioned in that question)."
Sanders development seems to be a key component of the Browns head coaching search. While his development isn't the only factor in hiring a head coach, it did play a role.
The other two players that Breer alludes to aren't known, but if following the rookie trend, they could be any one of Mason Graham, Quinshon Judkins, Harold Fannin Jr., or Carson Schwesinger.
While they might not all be in need of development, with Fannin and Schwesigner already being stars, the progress of these young players will dictate the future of the team.
Of the rookie class, Sanders is by far the most important one to develop. If he can turn into a solid starter, it would be a major coup by the Browns getting a franchise QB in the 5th round.

Dillon Gabriel lacks upside and is most likely not the subject of such a question. But Sanders, who has a high ceiling but low floor, is the more polarizing developmental prospect.
Breer's report indicates the Browns conducted their head coaching search with one hope of finding a candidate who would help develop Sanders.
Monken won the job, and based on this report from Breer, Monken likely plans to move forward with Sanders as a viable starter, or at the very least, try to develop him as such.
This question from the Browns doesn't directly mean that Sanders is the future of the position for the Browns, but it likely did help Monken get hired if he was optimistic about Sanders' chances of turning into a franchise-quality QB.
