Terry McLaurin wants a trade out of Washington.
One of his former teammates thinks the Commanders star would be a great fit in a reunion of former Buckeyes.
Cleveland Browns cornerback Denzel Ward didn't waste time trying to set up a McLaurin return to Ohio after the pair had played at Ohio State together.
This is what Ward posted on X Thursday night:
My Ohio State brother Terry Mclaurin would look fire in a Cleveland Browns jersey🔥I’m just saying

It's a fun thought. The Browns have Jerry Jeudy as WR1, but the competition for Nos. 2 and 3 WR are a bit murky.
Cleveland also doesn't know who its quarterback is going to be from a quartet that includes Joe Flacco, Kenny Pickett, Dillon Gabriel and Shedeur Sanders.
The biggest obstacle to a McLaurin deal would be the money.
McLaurin wants to be traded because the Commanders haven't met him where he wants in contract extension negotiations.
He's likely seeking something like the four years and $132 million signed by DK Metcalf with the Steelers. Metcalf and McLaurin are from the same draft class, although McLaurin is two years older.
It's not clear Cleveland would have the money to hand out such a contract, though. With Deshaun Watson still owed a heck of a lot over the next two seasons, the Browns are a little hamstrung, especially after giving Myles Garrett $40 million per year this offseason on his new deal.
That won't stop Ward from trying. It's not a bad shot to see if somehow, someway, one of the best receivers in football can come to Cleveland for a low-end trade cost. It's the high-end contract cost that could throw a wrench into the plan.
