In the end, Demetric Felton's NFL career consisted of 24 regular season games.
The former Cleveland Browns sixth-round pick from UCLA isn't going to be adding to that total. Instead, he's going into coaching.
He announced his retirement on Instagram with the news that he's coming back to the Browns to work in a player development role.
Felton's only regular season action came with the Browns in 2021 and 2022, his first two seasons after being drafted.
In that time, he had eight carries for 20 yards. He was more successful as a receiver, with 20 grabs for 189 yards and two TDs.
Felton also had 39 punt returns for 269 yards and 10 kick returns for 183 yards.

He spent the 2023 season on the Cincinnati Bengals' practice squad.
He bounced during 2024 between the Chicago Bears and Indianapolis Colts.
In 2025, he was with the Washington Commanders in the summer but was released before the season began.
Felton didn't get another contract, and now he's moved into the coaching ranks.
"This is not the end of my football life," Felton wrote in his post on IG. "This is my evolution."
Felton added this: "I'm not stepping away from the game. I'm stepping deeper into it."

Felton is just 27 years old and can still have a long football life ahead of him if that's what he chooses to pursue.
It just won't be as a player. Now, he'll be imparting the lessons he's learned onto the next generation.
