The Cleveland Browns will begin training camp in less than a month, where we will see the quarterback battle between Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, Dillon Gabriel, and Shedeur Sanders really heat up through the end of exhibition play. And while the Browns will make their final cuts before Week 1, they have already begun to cut their roster down ahead of camp.
The Browns have released veteran edge rusher Ogbo Okoronkwo, the team announced. Okoronkwo had 7.5 sacks across two seasons with the Browns, including three in 2024. His best season came with the Houston Texans in 2022, totaling five sacks and a career-high 44 tackles. For his career, he has 17 sacks and 132 total tackles. The Browns also signed kicker Andre Szmyt in response to the move.
The Browns will begin preseason play on August 8th in Carolina against the Panthers.
