Browns predicted to add Ravens Pro Bowl QB to compete with Shedeur Sanders

The Cleveland Browns are entering the 2026 season with a lot of needs on the offensive side of the ball. Essentially, the entire offensive line needs replacing, while the wide receiver room is in dire need of help.

The tight end and running back rooms are mostly set, but more depth couldn't hurt. But, at quarterback, the Browns might be in the running to bring in a new option in a veteran to compete with Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel.

PFF.com's Bradley Locker is predicting the Browns will go out and acquire former Baltimore Ravens and Miami Dolphins Pro Bowl quarterback Tyler Huntley to compete in the Cleveland QB room in 2026.

Browns predicted to sign Tyler Huntley to FA contract

"Inserting Huntley into the starting mix would give Cleveland another decent option in what figures to be another rebuilding season, considering the team's extensive offensive needs," Locker writes.

Huntley is a six-year NFL veteran who's spent the bulk of his career with the Ravens. He's played in five seasons with the Ravens, making 11 starts and going 5-6 during his time in Baltimore.

During the 2022 season, Huntley made four starts, throwing for 658 yards with two touchdowns, three interceptions, and rushing for 137 yards and a touchdown on 43 attempts.

Somehow, he was given a Pro Bowl nod. Similar to how Sanders was named to the Pro Bowl this season, Huntley was an undeserving Pro Bowler. But, at least Sanders started more than just a month's worth of games like Huntley did.

For the 2026 season, the Browns need to evaluate their quarterback room and also begin rebuilding their offensive line from scratch, and readjusting their wide receiver room.

Huntley would be a nice veteran addition, and while it wasn't for long, he does have familiarity with the Browns after joining the team for just 20 days before the 2025 season.

The 28-year-old would be a quality depth option at worst, and if he does take the starting job, he could provide some great dual-threat ability the Browns don't have on their roster currently at the quarterback position.
