After it was announced on Monday morning that Texas Tech quarterback Brendan Sorsby won't be allowed to play college football again, it remains unclear what will happen with the supplemental draft.
Perhaps the NCAA goes back on the court ruling and attempts to make Sorsby sit out, but the NCAA has been absolute mayhem recently, and I wouldn't bet on that happening.
Regardless of whether he ends up being in the supplemental draft or the regular draft, the Cleveland Browns can use a quarterback, and one Browns insider believes that there's a possibility of landing him and Jeremiah Smith to team up at some point.
“Much better prospect than anything Browns have right now,” Anthony Lima posted on X. “Imagine redshirting first half of season and developing under QB whisperer [Todd] Monken and THEN having a chance to draft Jeremiah Smith 👀👀.”
The Browns would need to have a top-five pick, at the very least, to land Smith. The Ohio State product is expected to be the first non-quarterback selected next year, with the possibility of him even going first overall. Sorsby will be a different situation to watch, though that should get interesting as well.
