The Cleveland Browns are in an interesting spot as a franchise this season, as their 4-2 record has them in good shape to make a run for the playoffs this season, despite coming into the year as more of a rebuilding team and less of a contender.

With the Browns leading the AFC North heading into Week 7, and the trade deadline just three weeks away, it's a very fascinating spot for the Browns to find themselves. That's especially the case with one player, their $52.5 million wide receiver, Jerry Jeudy.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter and Ian Rapoport, the latest update on a Jeudy trade is a bit unexpected. Instead of Cleveland trying to move him, as was the expectation not too long ago, now it seems like Jeudy might be staying in Cleveland after all.

Browns rumored to make unexpected Jerry Jeudy trade change

"With Cleveland in the postseason mix and Jeudy maintaining a good attitude despite the emergence of rookies KC Concepcion and Denzel Boston at wide receiver, sources say his chances of being traded are viewed as less likely," Rapoport and Schefter report.

This is a very noteworthy update for the Browns, as for much of the 2026 season so far, Jeudy has been viewed as a very obvious trade candidate.

Denzel Boston has emerged as a star, and KC Concepcion has looked good as well. Add in Isaiah Bond, and the Browns' WR room is in good shape even without Jeudy.

That solid depth chart, combined with Jeudy's contract and lackluster usage this season, made him an extremely obvious trade candidate. There are plenty of WR-needy teams, so the Browns could have easily found a suitor as well.

But this report indicates the Browns might keep him despite Jeudy being in trade speculation this season. The veteran WR might not be leaving Cleveland by the November 10 trade deadline.

"The Browns aren't shopping Jeudy at all," Rapoport and Schefter report. With a very high price tag placed on Jeudy, and the Browns not planning to sell with their 4-2 record, it's looking very likely that Jeudy remains in Cleveland for the rest of the year.
