The Denver Broncos squeaked out a win over their rivals, the Seattle Seahawks, on Sunday in an overtime battle that resulted in a 17-14 victory for Denver. While a win is always a win, it was a struggle for quarterback Bo Nix, and that's not lost on the NFL world.

During a presser on Monday, Payton was asked whether he might try to switch things up amid the Broncos' offensive struggles by bringing in backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham to replace Nix.

His answer really says it all. He didn't hesitate. He didn't flinch. He had his response ready.

"No," Payton said of possibly benching Nix, according to Jeff Legwold of ESPN. "He's gonna become the by-product of all of the finer things that get improved, the improved play of our offensive line, the more efficient we are relative to balance running the football, and that's, you know, that's our job as coaches here."

Nix also opened up ahead of the game and talked about how the team could have done better. Even though it was good to get the win over the reigning Super Bowl champions, they didn't perform as well as they could have.

"We're definitely capable [of better]. I don't know where the disconnect is right now, to be honest with you," Nix said, per ESPN. "I just think we're really struggling to find those explosive plays, and that's what makes an offense spectacular is explosive plays, and right now we don't have those."

So no matter how hard things get on the field, don't expect to see Nix as a benchwarmer anytime soon.
