The Denver Broncos have, weirdly, been linked to multiple quarterbacks over the past few months, and while it may sound confusing, there could be some good ideas behind it. The Broncos obviously want to find a competent backup for Bo Nix, so they're doing their homework.
According to Aaron Wilson of KPRC-TV, the Broncos recently met with Athan Kaliakmanis, a former Minnesota and Rutgers standout.
“Rutgers @RFootball quarterback and @GopherFootball transfer Athan Kaliakmanis had a Zoom meeting with #Broncos today per a league source,” Wilson reported. “He has a top 30 visit with the #Bengals as well as #Commanders. Also had formals with #Raiders and #Bengals. Will also be a part of #Bears #Giants, and #Eagles local prospect days.”
For Denver, it'll be interesting to see what type of approach they want to take in this draft. He isn't expected to come into the league and have an opportunity to start, and with the other teams he met with, he likely wouldn't have a chance to do that either, unless something were to happen injury-wise.
Kaliakmanis had decent numbers in college, and despite that not meaning everything, he proved that he can sling it a little bit.
