Being on a list in the NFL is usually a good thing, unless that tally, well, is not very flattering. One Denver Broncos player just landed on a list, and it's not really the one he probably wants to be featured on.
Bradley Locker of PFF has released a roster of the NFL's most-penalized players since 2021.
"Using the last five seasons as a barometer gives us a good window into which names have been read the most by referees," he states in the piece. "Note that this list is predicated on the total number of penalties generated, no matter if they were accepted or declined."

Broncos tackle Garett Bolles is tied for the fifth spot on the ranking. "Bolles' 45 penalties tie Ekwonu, with 33 of them being via either false start or hold," Locker notes. "Bolles has also been responsible for seven illegal formation calls."
He also notes something positive, that Bolles has been flagged eight or fewer times in four of the past five seasons. But, his 2024 season put him high on this list, because he had a whopping 16 penalties.
"Ultimately, Bolles and other linemen reflect that not surrendering pressure is far more important than being whistled, which seems like a near-inevitability while playing a high volume of snaps," Locker adds.
So, Bolles is obviously a talented tackle and fits into the Broncos' scheme very well. But, he'd be wise to reign it in this season and try to play nicer on the field.
