Britney Spears made the heartbreaking confession that she believes she “failed as a mother” because one of her sons told her that he doesn’t believe in God.
However, Spears is still certain there’s “a Holy Spirit that sits high in the kingdom of heaven … I’ve been there I’ve felt it,” she wrote in a lengthy message on X Friday.
The “Toxic” singer, 44, began her post with what appeared to be an old photo of sons Sean Preston, 20, and Jayden James, 19, running on the beach.
In her message, Spears claimed she found out five years ago that her kids “were secretly taken to the beach” by her estranged dad, Jamie Spears, and mom, Lynne Spears.
“The whole summer … I look back now and I remember my dad not letting me go to a diner ever again to eat a hamburger with a new extremely cool friend I had found cuz all the attention I got from the paps after being held in my home for 4 months offended him,” Spears penned.
The mom of two said she “felt demoralized” by her parents allegedly spending time with her kids without her, noting she “went to my knees and cried for two months.”
Spears went on to say she “never got to be me” despite being “unbelievably intelligent” because she “was brainwashed into an ignorant system where every goddamn person took advantage of me.”
“I firmly believe I am an angel, and it hurts,” she added. “Time is in a different realm when you’re an angel… I miss the excitement in my eves being alive.”
Spears also recalled that she “was unbelievably passionate about everything” when she was younger, but now, she’s asking herself: “How the hell would a government allow that?”
“As people we all want a hero or someone to look up to but we’re simply just people at the end of the day … We’re all stars in my eyes cuz I’m simply mamma now,” she continued.
At the end of her post, Spears stated that she’s wants to give her “perspective openly” after being “misunderstood” for most of her life.
“I want to get closer to God and get my heart in its most beautiful, spiritual way and have dreams again like I did when I used to go to Mexico!!!” she concluded.
Spears — who shares her sons with ex-husband Kevin Federline — has faced many troubles since she shot to fame as a teenager.
She was under a conservatorship for 13 years that was terminated by a judge in November 2021, after Spears testified how her father controlled her every move – including allegedly forcing her to take birth control and work against her will.

Since then, Spears has made headlines for her erratic social media rants and sharing videos of her dancing with knives.
The “Crossroads” actress was arrested for a DUI on March 4 and checked herself into rehab the following month.
She exited the facility later in April and was said to be “doing really well.”
“She’s healthy and happy and feeling very positive and excited to start afresh,” an insider told Page Six at the time. “Rehab was a great opportunity for her to ground herself.”
In May, Spears accepted a “wet reckless” offer in court, for which she’s expected to complete a three-month alcohol school tint and to a one-year informal probationary grant.
Despite her legal troubles, Spears has happily reconnected with her sons who allegedly convinced her to go to rehab.
“This was non-negotiable to them. She needed to get help and they told her that they wouldn’t take no for an answer,” a source previously told the Daily Mail.
