The Milwaukee Brewers might not be the team many baseball fans would expect to swing big at the MLB trade deadline, but this might be the time to do so.
They're one of the best teams in the league, they have a decent lead in the NL Central, and with Jacob Misiorowski and Kyle Harrison pitching incredibly well, they're very much a World Series contender.
For MLB insider Robert Murray of Fansided.com, he is urging the Brewers front office to make a huge decision, and trade for 3.32 ERA Detroit Tigers ace Tarik Skubal this summer to form one of, if not the best 1-2 punch in MLB this season.
Brewers urged to trade for Tarik Skubal by MLB insider
"This year, Milwaukee could once again use some thump in the lineup," Murray writes. "But the name that Matt Arnold and the front office should target is none other than Skubal."
Adding Skubal to Misiorowski and Harrison would form one of the best pitching trios in baseball, one good enough to carry them in October.
Of course, trading for Skubal is something that's a lot more difficult in practice, as the Tigers might not even sell this season.
But if they do, they're going to ask for a massive haul for Skubal. That's before even considering a bidding war might break out, as teams like the Los Angeles Dodgers, New York Yankees, Atlanta Braves, Toronto Blue Jays, and others might be in on Skubal.

Milwaukee should try to add Skubal this summer if they can, as having him alongside Misiorowski and Harrison might be just what this team needs to beat the Dodgers, Braves, or Philadelphia Phillies in the postseason.
Left-handed hitters are more dominant than ever, and getting one of the best left-handed pitchers in the sport, even if he's struggled a little since his return from the injured list, would be incredibly worthwhile for this team.
It won't come cheap, but this is the kind of move that the Brewers should seriously consider making this summer, as he could take this team from a normal postseason contender to a legitimate threat to win the World Series.
