After an incredible back-and-forth series, the Milwaukee Brewers beat the San Diego Padres in the NLDS, 3-1, with Game 4 resulting in a 3-1 win.

In that win for the Brewers, Jackson Chourio hit the eventual game-winning single to make it 2-1 in the top of the fifth inning. That would be all the Brewers needed to beat the Padres. But for Chourio, it was also all he needed to make some history.

Sarah Langs shared a remarkable statistic about how Chourio has just tied Hall of Famer Andruw Jones for most RBIs in the postseason by players under 23 years old. But Chourio's feat is a lot more impressive. Why? He did it in nearly 30 fewer games.

Jackson Chourio makes impressive MLB RBI history in postseason

"Most postseason RBI before turning 23: Jackson Chourio: 17 (16 games), Andruw Jones: 17 (45)," Langs shared.

Across MLB postseason history, the only player under 23 years old to have driven in as many RBIs as Chourio has in his career is Jones, a Hall of Fame outfielder.

But the real reason why this is such an impressive statistic is that Jones accomplished this feat in 45 games, whereas Chourio has done it in just 16 games.

In 16 postseason games since 2024, Chourio has 66 plate appearances with 18 hits, seven runs scored, three doubles, five home runs, 17 RBIs, a .300 batting average, and a .933 OPS.

With the Brewers advancing to the NLCS to face the Los Angeles Dodgers, the Brewers have a real chance at seeing Chourio not only set the record for RBIs by a player under 23 years old, but he has a chance to make this a near-impossible one to break.

Chourio will be 22 years old throughout the postseason, so if the Brewers can advance to the World Series, he'll have, at minimum, eight more games to tack onto his RBI total. Averaging over one RBI per game in the postseason, 20-plus seems like a near lock.

But even if he doesn't drive in another RBI this postseason, he'll still have easily made MLB history by tying Jones atop the under-23 leaderboard in the postseason with an impressive 17 RBIs in only 16 games.

Chourio is cementing his status as an all-time postseason legend already in his MLB career, and if he continues to push this record well into the 20s, he could create a record that might never be broken again in MLB history.
