Brewers announce Logan Henderson news before Cardinals game

1 hour ago 2

There's a 1-2 showdown happening in the National League Central as the Milwaukee Brewers (1st in NL Central) are taking on the St. Louis Cardinals (2nd in NL Central).

The Brew Crew took the first game of the series in 5-1 fashion thanks to Jacob Misiorowski's electric outing. Misiorowski broke the MLB record for most fastballs of 100+ MPH in a single outing (53). Milwaukee is a surging team in MLB and has captured first place in the Central after the Cubs led for much of the first month and a half.

However, in less promising news, the Brewers had to place breakout pitcher Logan Henderson on the Injured List Tuesday with a back strain.

Logan Henderson Heads to Injured List

MLBTradeRumors.com's Darragh McDonald wrote (on May 26):

"The Brewers announced that right-hander Logan Henderson has been placed on the 15-day injured list with a low back strain, retroactive to May 23rd. Fellow righty Coleman Crow has been recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move."

Logan Henderson has a 2.74 ERA this season over 5 starts and 23 innings pitched. He also has 30 strikeouts with a WHIP of 1.043.

He saw a brief period of time with the Brewers' big league club in 2025, but ultimately had to be sent down to the minors due to a crowded roster.

If healthy, which this back issue could ultimately prove, this could be the year Henderson is able to make 20+ starts and show what he can bring in a full body of work.

CBSSports writes:

"Henderson pitched through back tightness during his previous outing Friday against the Dodgers. Despite the injury, Henderson pitched effectively (nine strikeouts, one run allowed over five innings) en route to claiming the win, but he apparently didn't bounce back from the back issue as quickly as the Brewers had hoped."

June seventh would be the earliest Logan Henderson could return from the IL.
