Things keep going from bad to worse for the Atlanta Braves.
The latest news involves Chris Sale, and it's not good.
The Braves placed Sale on the 15-day injured list on Saturday with a fractured left ribcage.
Chris Sale has a fractured left rib cage and was placed on the 15-day injured list, an obvious big blow to the #Braves' chances of reeling in teams ahead in NL East and wild-card standings if it keeps him out any significant stretch.
They recalled LHP Austin Cox.
Sale has been one of the bright spots in a rough season.
The veteran lefty has a 2.52 ERA this season to go with a 5-4 record.

At the time of the injury roster move, the Braves are 34-40. They're 11 games back of the Phillies in the NL East (and 10 back of the Mets for second place).
They're also more than five games back of a wild card spot at this point, too.
It's an uphill climb coming for Atlanta, and if Sale is out for a while, it'll get even steeper.
