The Atlanta Braves made a notable roster adjustment to their outfield before Monday's game against the New York Mets.
First, Eli White was placed on the paternity list.
To replace White, the Braves promoted a fellow outfielder from Triple-A. This is the third time this season Atlanta has added the light-hitting speedster to the roster.
Jose Azocar will join the Braves on Monday.
"He should give the club a speed-and-defense bench outfielder for now. Since he is out of options, it’s possible he is designated for assignment yet again when White returns from the paternity list," Darragh McDonald of MLB Trade Rumors wrote about Azocar.
In nine games this season with the Braves, Azocar has hit .333/.375/.467 with two doubles in 16 trips to the plate.
Since making his debut with the San Diego Padres in 2022, the 30-year-old has gone 20-for-29 on stolen base attempts.

"Though he shouldn’t be expected to hit like he did with the big league club earlier this year, he can be serviceable in other ways," McDonald added. "In 1,109 outfield innings in his career, he has been credited with two Defensive Runs Saved and eight Outs Above Average."
The Braves will look for a spark from Azocar while White is out. He's most likely to be used as a pinch runner or defensive replacement.
