The Charlotte Hornets are coming off a superb nine-game winning streak, but that ended with a loss to the Detroit Pistons. That was supposed to be the headline story from Monday night, but it became mostly about the brawl that led to Miles Bridges and Moussa Diabate's four-game suspensions.
In Wednesday's game against the Atlanta Hawks, the Hornets won 110-107. They were short-handed without two key pieces, but the Hornets stepped up for their suspended teammates.
Miller was impressed by the Hornets stepping up for suspended teammates
Brandon Miller was the standout player for the Hornets with a line of 31 points, nine rebounds, and two blocks. It was an impressive performance for the Hornets forward, while LaMelo Ball had 24 points of his own.
PJ Hall also had an impressive performance, getting a double-double of 11 points and 10 rebounds. Considering Bridges and Diabate are key pieces to the frontcourt, Hall stepping up is a good sign of the Hornets' team-wide next-man-up mentality.

Head coach Charles Lee must be proud of his team because they did well to lead the team without key players. The Hornets are showing signs that they could be even better in the future with how they are playing at the moment.
That can be linked to how Lee has been coaching the Hornets. Moving forward, Lee has a system that is being built to lead the team to the promised land, and they will be ready to keep fighting.
"Just the heart, that competitive spirit that we've been preaching all season and all summer. We've come a long way. Credit to our summer work and what we do. Our preparation every day," Miller said about the Hornets' hard work paying off without certain teammates.
The Hornets have three more games to play without the two key players. Moving forward, they will keep fighting and proving that they belong in the Playoffs. They are in the ninth seed now, which bodes well for their chances.
