The Buffalo Bills have put all their eggs in Brandon Beane's basket after the firing of head coach Sean McDermott.
With Beane now overseeing the entire football department, he has more control over what goes on than ever. And with that comes pressure to get things right, because if they don't, there will be only one person to blame now, and that's him.
So, where does he start in the offseason in helping put the Bills over the top in the playoffs?
For ESPN's Alaina Getzenberg, he starts at one of the most problematic positions Buffalo has had in years.
“Wide receiver is the chief consideration,” Getzenberg wrote. “The position group has major question marks around it with 2024 No. 33 draft pick Keon Coleman falling down the roster in his second season, and free agency additions such as Joshua Palmer and Curtis Samuel not working out. Fixing that group will be among Beane's biggest tasks.”

WR still a huge issue under Beane
As Getzenberg pointed out, not many receiver moves have worked out.
Keon Coleman is still a question mark, while Palmer and Samuel have been fine, but Josh Allen doesn't need fine. He needs great.
It perhaps perfectly sums up the Bills' receiver room that Brandin Cooks comes in midway through the year and looks to be their most dangerous threat. That isn't great.
Yes, Buffalo has Khalil Shakir, but he doesn't scare defenses.
Is this the offseason where Beane finally goes and gets Allen a No. 1 weapon? He'll need to massage the salary cap to do it, and you can make the case that this is his last shot at fixing it.
