Bradley Beal’s first season in Los Angeles won’t be getting a Hollywood ending.

The Clippers guard will undergo season-ending surgery on a hip fracture, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

“We met with numerous doctors and specialists around the country in collaboration with the entire Clippers medical staff over the last few days, and came to the decision unanimously that the surgery will allow Brad to have a full and complete recovery,” Beal’s agent, Mark Bartelstein, told ESPN.

The 32-year-old sat out Monday’s game against the Hawks as the team worked to figure out the extent of his injury, believed to have been suffered last Thursday in a loss to the Suns.

The hip ailment ends what has been a rough Los Angeles debut for Beal, who signed a two-year, $11 million deal in the offseason after being bought out by Phoenix.

In six games to start the season, he’s averaged 8.2 points and 1.7 assists — career lows for a player with career marks of 21.4 points and 4 assists per game — as Los Angeles has endured a disappointing 3-7 start, falling to 12th in the Western Conference.

Beal, a three-time All-Star with the Wizards from 2012-23, failed to live up to expectations as part of a big three that featured Kevin Durant and Devin Booker, as injuries limited him to 106 out of 164 possible games, and the team made it as far as the Western Conference semifinals in 2024.
