Jordan Kyrou has been involved in trade rumors for a while now.
The St. Louis Blues probably could've moved him before the March deadline, but instead held onto him through the rest of the season.
Now, Kyrou enters the offseason as a prime candidate to be dealt.
Daily Faceoff's Matt Larkin actually ranks Kyrou as one of the five players he believes would most benefit from a change of scenery this offseason.
"Across the three seasons preceding this one, Kyrou was tied with Adrian Kempe for 21st in the NHL in goals," Larkin writes. "Kyrou hasn’t turned into a scrub overnight."

But for whatever reason, Kyrou has regressed in his actual performance, so the Blues may not be all that keen to keep him around.
"Kyrou’s days as a Blue have felt numbered since the home-booing incident that left him in literal tears in December 2023," Larkin writes. "He’s a dynamic scorer but one who hasn’t justified his $8.125-million price tag of late. At least, that’s the perception. He undoubtedly underachieved offensively this past season, scoring just 18 goals in 72 games after four seasons between 27 and 37. He was even healthy scratched for a game. But Kyrou quietly played good defensive hockey this season, he’s in his prime at 28, and he could return to producing as a frontline player – perhaps reaching a new ceiling – with a change of environment."
The trick here is for the Blues to find a good enough return to get value back for Kyrou.
He's one of those players who both sides of the deal know is probably still solid, but who hasn't performed quite well enough lately for St. Louis to get totally reasonable offers.
A compromise will have to be reached. And if they can do that, then Kyrou may find himself with a new team for the 2026-27 season.
