Blue Jays linked to trades for 2 talented pitchers

The Toronto Blue Jays are leading the American League East.

It's time to go for it at the MLB trade deadline.

The Blue Jays are in position to build around the edges to make a roster that can hold the division lead and can win in October.

Often this time of year, that means bulking up the bullpen.

MLB insider Jon Morosi reports that the Blue Jays are in discussions with the Pittsburgh Pirates about a trade for relief help.

The Pirates have two possible options being floated in trade talks: David Bednar and Dennis Santana.

Bednar is an experienced closer who nearly pitched himself out of the majors entirely last season but has found his way back to being mostly effective.

Santana has been the better of the two this season.

But the news of the Pirates conversation is notable, because they have two solid options that Toronto could end up with.
