Bo Bichette is back.
The Blue Jays star will return for the World Series after missing the last month-and-a-half with a sprained posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
The two-time All-Star has been out since Sept. 6 when he collided with Yankees catcher Austin Wells on a play at the plate.
Toronto Blue Jays second baseman Bo Bichette (11) speaks to the media before game one of the 2025 MLB World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Rogers Centre. He’s trying out a new position in his return as well.
Bichette will hit fourth and play second base for the first time in his big league career in the series opener on Friday night in Toronto.
He had spent his entire MLB career at either shortstop or designated hitter.
“To be honest, I brought it up,” Bichette said of playing second. “It was something that I felt like I could get ready for quicker than another position. I just want to be ready to help the team in any way that is afforded to me, so that felt like an opportunity for me, and obviously they were on board with it.”
Bichette worked out Thursday at Rogers Centre in what was expected to be the final hurdle in potentially clearing him to make the Blue Jays roster before the World Series kicked off.

I’m ready to help the team in whatever capacity that is.”
Bichette’s return is a major addition to a Blue Jays lineup that has thrived during his absence during this playoff run.
In 139 games, Bichette hit .311/.357/.483 with 18 home runs and 94 RBIs.
