The Toronto Blue Jays have to do what they can to improve the bullpen at this week's trade deadline.
Toronto is almost a complete team, but adding help at the back end of their bullpen is a must.
With the Blue Jays having the best record in the American League, they will most likely be the team to beat this fall, and adding another reliever or two could help bring them to the World Series.
Matthew Sookram from Fansided thinks the Blue Jays should trade for St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Steven Matz.
Last, but not least, former Blue Jays' starter Matz is reinventing himself as a solid reliever at age 34," Sookram wrote. "The lefty has thrown 53 innings this season, with 44 of those coming out of the bullpen. In those situations, Matz has a 3.68 ERA with 35 strikeouts. He hit a rough spot in the middle of June where he gave up eight earned runs over a string of five games, but he has settled back in and has allowed just one earned run over his last six innings pitched since June 8."

Matz is in the final year of a $44 million contract, so if the Blue Jays do trade for him, he will most likely be a rental, but he could provide a boost in the back end of the Toronto bullpen.
