Blue Jays' Bo Bichette's contract future gets concerning update with MLB Draft pick

8 hours ago 1

The MLB Draft is tricky to read too much into, because the selections are so far away from making an impact at the MLB level.

But the Toronto Blue Jays, if you want to read into it, may have provided a signal.

In the first round on Sunday night, the Blue Jays picked shortstop Jojo Parker.

Could that mean Bo Bichette's future is outside of Toronto?

That's no sure thing, but Bichette has yet to sign an extension that will likely stretch into nine figures.

There's still a lot of belief that Bichette will stick around to stay with Vladimir Guerrero Jr.

There's also some thought that Parker, at 6-foot-5, might end up at third base.

But maybe, just maybe, the Blue Jays are planning for a future beyond Bichette. It's at least interesting to think about.
