An Australian tourist was discovered wandering through one of Thailand’s most notorious red-light districts covered in blood on Monday night.

Michael Walter Scott, 55, from Sydney, had reportedly been drinking at a venue named Big Tool in Pattaya, known for its male performers and Russian dancers.

Employees are said to have handed Scott his bill before a brawl broke out over the 1,070 baht ($32.82) payment.

Staff then forcibly ejected Scott around 11 p.m. when he refused to pay, leaving the Sydneysider stranded and wandering the streets – where he was later found with blood streaming from a head wound.

According to bar staff, Scott fell and hit his head on glass while being escorted outside by security.

Local police were called to the scene. However, they were denied entry by the bar owners who reportedly refused to hand over CCTV footage of the incident.

“Based on the nature of the injuries, we suspect they were not solely caused by a fall, as there were multiple wounds,” a police spokesperson said.

Footage taken outside of the venue shows Scott appearing to be disoriented as he stumbles out of the club in a blood-soaked shirt.

Scott, who still appears in good spirits, is later seen being lifted into the back of a police ute as authorities provide him with water.

He was then taken to Pattaya Memorial Hospital for further care and later filed a complaint at Pattaya Police Station.

Lieutenant Colonel Apichet Jarurak from the city’s Tourist Police said, “The injured tourist identified as Michael Scott from Bankstown, had been drinking and was intoxicated.

“The bar claimed he had refused to pay his bill. According to staff at the scene, he arrived with his son before becoming disruptive.

“Staff called in security and informed him of the $47 ($32.82 USD) charge, which he also refused to pay.

“Security attempted to escort him out, but he resisted, resulting in a scuffle.

“During the incident, the tourist fell and hit his head on the glass, sustaining injuries. No weapons were used.

“Security staff and the cashier have been brought in for questioning. This investigation is ongoing. If the pub fails to cooperate, we will take appropriate action, as such incidents must not impact tourism.”

There is no suggestion of wrongdoing by Scott or his son.

Just days earlier, Thai police responded to an incident on Bangla Road, Patong, after two Aussie men became embroiled in a fight.

Officers later learned the pair had been drinking together before coming to blows over a woman.

Bystanders attempted to separate the pair but the fight continued to escalate until one of them was knocked to the road.

Disturbing footage showed one of the men kicking and punching his friend as he lay on the ground.

“Let’s go, c***, let’s f***ing go,” he was heard saying.

The man reportedly fled the scene before police arrived and the man on the ground was transported to the hospital for treatment.

The incidents come amid growing scrutiny of Pattaya’s nightlife scene, which is often referred to as ‘Sin City’ by travelers.

In a bid to turn the region’s reputation around, tourism initiatives have been launched to attract families and the like, with the hopes that it will one day be seen as a safe destination.

Authorities have also introduced safety measures, such as improved lighting and CCTV.

Despite some success in cleaning up the town’s image, alcohol and sex remain its biggest drawcards, often leading to a high rate of crime and accidents.

Earlier this year, a wild brawl between British, American and an Australian tourist was caught on camera after a female waiter was allegedly slapped in the face at a bar in Pattaya.

The violent altercation took place outside the bar, after the group – who had been drinking together – turned on one another.

Footage of the altercation showed two British men battering the American, who was seen lying on the road in a red shirt, before he was kicked unconscious.
