After Tony Khan introduced the National Championship, he announced a Casino Gauntlet match where the winner would become the inaugural champion. Several top stars competed in the match, but it was Ricochet who walked away with the title.
During a recent appearance on the Battleground podcast, Tony Khan said that the former WWE name is a global star who will be a great person to represent All Elite Wrestling.
“We’ve got a new National Champion, Ricochet, who will be defending that title all over the world. And he’s somebody that not only AEW fans respect–I believe he’s a great, great wrestler–but also someone who is a huge name in wrestling and a great person to represent [All Elite Wrestling], not just here on our TV shows, but also when traveling to other promotions in America.”It will be interesting to see if Ricochet will be able to hold onto his title till Dynasty 2026.
