The Buffalo Bills signed a former first-round pick this offseason, but he may not even make the team.
That's what The Athletic's Joe Buscaglia projects in his latest 53-man roster prediction for Buffalo.
He has Shaq Thompson missing the squad.
Thompson is a former Panthers first-round pick. He played for Bills coach Sean McDermott in Carolina.
Buffalo could try to get Thompson onto the practice squad, Buscaglia wrote.
Thompson is 31 years old, so if he isn't an obvious right-away contributor, there may not be reason to keep him.
He spent the entirety of his first 10 years in the NFL with the Panthers.

Thompson has 752 career tackles in 123 games.
The Bills have two stud linebackers when healthy in Matt Milano and Terrell Bernard.
Thompson could be good veteran experience and depth if he makes the team, but it certainly looks like it'll be a close call for him.
