The Buffalo Bills' season is over, and owner Terry Pegula has been forced to focus on the Buffalo Sabres.
But the most fun for him right now, surely, is what his daughter Jessica Pegula is doing at the Australian Open tennis tournament.
Pegula played midday Monday (evening Sunday in Buffalo) in Melbourne in the Round of 16 against a fellow American, Madison Keys.
It was a big-time matchup between two of the best players in the world.
Pegula controlled it 6-3, 6-4.
It was a pretty close match, really, but Pegula took 4-of-5 break points and won more often on her second serve, too.
Her quarterfinal opponent hasn't been determined yet, but it's a big step for Pegula.
Pegula has never won a Grand Slam.
She played in the final of the 2024 U.S. Open.
At the other three major events, Pegula has reached the quarterfinal as her best finish.
That includes three times at the Australian Open -- 2021, 2022 and 2023.
Pegula will try to outdo that and continue her chase for her first Grand Slam.
