The Buffalo Bills are coming off a big Week 6 win over the Las Vegas Raiders and will now get a bye week to rest before returning to action in Week 8.
But for that Week 8 matchup, the Bills are going to be without a key defensive back, and not due to injury. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson was suspended by the NFL for a spitting incident during the Bills vs. Raiders game.
Somehow, he's not the only Bills DB to face this suspension from the NFL. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, defensive back Sam Franklin Jr. is joining Gardner-Johnson on suspension for spitting in the Raiders game.
A second Bills DB suspended for spitting incident vs. Raiders
"Bills DB Sam Franklin Jr. was suspended one game today for unsportsmanlike conduct that the league said was a spitting incident vs. the Las Vegas Raiders," Schefter reports.
Franklin and Gardner-Johnson are two defensive backs now set to be suspended for the Bills' Week 8 game coming out of their Week 7 bye.
When the Bills face the Baltimore Ravens in Week 8, they're going to be down a few defensive backs if these suspensions from the NFL hold up.

NFL Network's Mike Garafolo is reporting that Franklin "denies the allegation" that he spit toward or on someone during the Raiders game. Franklin will appeal the suspension and try to avoid missing Week 8's matchup.
If both are out for that matchup, Buffalo will have to roll with Damar Hamlin, Jalon Kilgore, and Cole Bishop as their main safety rotation, as Gardner-Johnson and Franklin both might miss that game.
It's a wild situation for the Bills to find themselves in, as two defensive backs are now suspended for Week 8, barring an appeal changing things.
