Bills get positive injury updated on promising wide receiver

7 hours ago 1

The Buffalo Bills have done some re-tooling to their receiving corps for the second consecutive season. Mack Hollins is gone, as is Amari Cooper, and the Bills brought in Josh Palmer and Elijah Moore to replenish those roles, and perhaps improve dramatically out wide.

However, the Bills' depth is somewhat of a question as they have several guys competing for the No. 6 wide receiver spot. One of those guys in that competition is Tyrell Shavers.

The long-time Bills' practice squad player had a touchdown on his first catch in 2024 in a lopsided defeat over the New York Jets in Week 17 and is making a push to earn a Week 1 roster spot. He suffered an ankle injury that left many wondering if that would derail his shot at making the 53-man roster. That said, Sean McDermott gave a positive update on Shavers.

Addressing the media on Monday, McDermott said he doesn't believe Shavers' ankle injury is serious. Should that be the case, it's fair to expect him to be back at practice sooner rather than later and to get back in the fold in the competition for a roster spot.
