Bills get brutal Trey Hendrickson news that rubs Ravens signing in their face

1 hour ago 2

The Buffalo Bills didn't sign Trey Hendrickson, but apparently they were in the running.

That makes the news that Hendrickson signed with the Baltimore Ravens quite a frustrating bit of info for Bills Mafia.

It hurts even worse given that Hendrickson only landed with the Ravens after they backed out of their agreed-upon trade with the Raiders for Maxx Crosby.

Clearly, Baltimore wouldn't have signed Hendrickson if they had already acquired Crosby. Their roundabout path to getting Hendrickson hurt the other teams involved in the situation.

Buffalo was right there, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

"The Colts, Bills, Bucs, Commanders and Eagles all were involved in Trey Hendrickson's free agency before the All-Pro agreed to terms with the Ravens, per sources," Fowler wrote on X on Wednesday morning.

Then he added a bit more about how Buffalo would've fit the picture.

"Hendrickson wanted a long-term deal with a contender," Fowler wrote. "Buffalo fit that mold. But Baltimore put it over the top Tuesday night."

There's a chance the Ravens made a bigger offer, but there's no way to know that for sure right now.

All that's totally clear is that Hendrickson chose Baltimore over Buffalo. If the Crosby trade had gone through, maybe it all would've been different for the Bills.

Maybe now they go back toward pursuing a Crosby trade of their own. Clearly they want a pass-rush upgrade. It just won't be Hendrickson.
