The 15-year-old son of investor and philanthropist Ronald Perelman and psychiatrist Dr. Anna Chapman has died, Page Six has learned.
We’re told the gifted teen passed away on Tuesday night on the island of St. Maarten. His death is believed to be connected to a longstanding medical issue.
A rep for Perelman declined to comment.
“He was a kind, smart child,” said an source, “Very smart — he was his father’s son.”
The MacAndrew & Forbes billionaire, 83, and Dr. Chapman tied the knot in 2010 and they announced the same year that they were welcoming Oscar via a surrogate.
“We had some trials and tribulations getting to this point, and we are both thrilled,” Dr. Chapman told Page Six at the time.
“A baby is something they’ve both really wanted for a while,” a source said. “Friends say they’ve never seen Ronald happier or more content.”
