Big announcement on Ricochet's future following surprising finish at AEW Holiday Bash 2025

Ricochet was involved in a major bout at AEW Holiday Bash 2025, which ended somewhat surprisingly. Now, an announcement has been made about the star's immediate future in the Jacksonville-based promotion.

Last night, AEW hosted this year's edition of the Holiday Bash, a 3-hour special that combined Dynamite and Collision. The event featured marquee bouts and segments ahead of the promotion's next pay-per-view, Worlds End, set for December 27. Among the matches was a 12-man Dynamite Diamond Ring battle royal. The bout was as chaotic as expected and came down to a surprising yet thrilling finish, with Ricochet and Bandido as the last two competitors after their allies (Gates of Agony and Brodido) eliminated each other.

Following the match, it was announced that the One and Only and the reigning ROH World Champion will lock horns in a singles match on next week’s Dynamite to determine who wins the Diamond Ring and earns an AEW World Title shot in the future.

Ricochet says he's the most marketable champion in AEW

Shortly after becoming the inaugural AEW National Champion, Ricochet gave an interview to The Sportster, in which his in-character Future of Flight boasted of his renewed importance to the Jacksonville-based promotion. He went on to say that he's the most marketable star in Tony Khan's company, putting himself above the Men's World and Women's World champions.

It will be interesting to see whether the One and Only will add to his accolades by winning the Dynamite Diamond Ring next week on the flagship show.
