Toronto Blue Jays rookie Trey Yesavage has emerged as one of the most sought-after young arms after a remarkable postseason that ended in a heartbreaking World Series loss against the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Yesavage, who was a late addition to the Blue Jays roster, made his MLB debut in September. With just over a month of major league experience under his belt, Yesavage was included in the postseason roster and the rookie ace exceeded expectations with his historic performances against the New York Yankees and the Dodgers.

Following a remarkable rookie year, Yesavage recapped his season on Instagram, writing:

Frick has been the Blue Jays pitcher's biggest supporters throughout his baseball journey. She penned a heartfelt message for Yesavage after the Blue Jays lost Game 7 of the World Series at Rogers Centre to end their pursuit of a first time in more than three decades.

Blue Jays GM Ross Atkins expecting growth from Trey Yesavage ahead of 2026 season

Although Trey Yesavage had a stellar postseason with the Blue Jays, he isn't lock for next season's starting rotation, per Toronto general manager Ross Atkins.

Atkins said the team will try to evaluate the rookie's workload heading into the 2026 season and is hoping for improvements from the young flamethrower.

"I think he's in a pretty good position, load-wise," Atkins said. "We'll talk through that with him and see if there's something to manage on the workload standpoint but it's more about not resting (on his post-season achievements) and making sure that we're getting better."

Yesavage made history by striking out 12 Dodgers batters in Game 5 of the World Series at Dodger Stadium, becoming the first rookie to reach the milestone. The Blue Jays ace also set the record for most strikeouts by a rookie in the Fall Classic.
