Bethenny Frankel applauded Bad Bunny for “expressing his experience” during the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show.
“So my take on Bad Bunny and his performance at the Super Bowl is that he is an artist expressing himself, his music and his experience as a Puerto Rican man in America,” the Skinny Girl founder said in an Instagram Reel Monday.
The “Real Housewives of New York” alum noted that all musicians from genres like country to hip-hop share their experience and culture through their music and performance because that’s what artistry is.
“Bad Bunny is a Puerto Rican man in America on the largest stage in the world — which is very inspirational to people because that is him expressing his experience in his first language.”
“Madonna said it best: Express yourself,” she concluded.
However, when Frankel posted the same video on TikTok, the comments section was filled with users claiming she had originally posted a clip “tearing the performance apart.”
“That’s right. You better walk it back quick!” one wrote, while another added, “Nahh put your original video back up.”
Others pointed out that her argument about Bad Bunny, real name, Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, being a “Puerto Rican man in America” didn’t make sense since Puerto Rico is in America.
During his celeb-packed performance Sunday, Bad Bunny celebrated several aspects of Puerto Rican culture including, the dancing, the food and the agriculture.
Even Lady Gaga — who delivered a surprise rendition of her and Bruno Mars’ “Die with a Smile” — wore the true blue of the Puerto Rican flag.

The halftime show — which the King of Latin Trap himself described as a “huge party” — did receive backlash from other celebs including Chris Brown and Jake Paul.
Brown took to his Instagram Stories minutes after the performance concluded and wrote, “I think it’s safe to say… they need me,” followed by a winking face emoji.
Paul took to X and declared he wasn’t tuning into Bad Bunny’s performance and advised his 4.4 million followers not to as well.
The YouTuber also called Bad Bunny — who was born in Puerto Rico and is a U.S. citizen — “a fake American citizen performing who publicly hates America.”
But his brother Logan subsequently tweeted, “I love my brother but I don’t agree with this.”
“Puerto Ricans are Americans & I’m happy they were given the opportunity to showcase the talent that comes from the island,” Logan added in his X post.
