Bet365 bonus code NYPBET for the 2025 PGA Championship: Four long shots to bet at Quail Hollow

3 hours ago 1

Bookmakers believe the 2025 PGA Championship will be a three-horse race between Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler and Bryson DeChambeau.

McIlroy and Scheffler are +470 co-favorites at bet365, while DeChambeau is behind them at +850.

If you combine the implied probabilities of the three favorites, you get roughly 49 percent, meaning the bookmakers are projecting this to be a McIlroy/Scheffler/DeChambeau vs. the field kind of scenario.

That won’t stop us from trying to find a couple of long shots to attach our wagon to at Quail Hollow this weekend.

The PGA Championship hasn’t been a happy hunting ground for long shots in the last three years, but you don’t have to go back too far to find a huge price that cashed at this event.

Phil Mickelson isn’t your typical roughie, but he went off at 250/1 when he won the Wanamaker Trophy at Kiawah in 2021.

Five years before that, it was Jimmy Walker who won the PGA Championship as a 125/1 outsider.

Those two wins were surrounded by chalky players like Brooks Koepka, Collin Morikawa, Justin Thomas and Xander Schauffele, but they serve as a reminder that it’s a good idea to have at least a couple of long shots on your card at the PGA Championship.

2025 PGA Championship long shots

Robert MacIntyre (120/1): A trendy pick at Augusta last month, Robert MacIntyre is flying under the radar at the PGA Championship, probably because he burned so many bettors by missing the cut at Augusta.

We’ll buy the dip on the Scottish lefty.

MacIntyre is terrific off the tee and has a great track record at majors, so we’ll take advantage of a great number this week.

Max Homa (120/1): It’s been a long time since Max Homa truly contended at an event, and his struggles over the last calendar year have been well documented, but it’s hard to ignore his course history at Quail Hollow at this price. Homa has a win and two top-10 finishes in four starts at this track.

Homa showed some real flashes at the Masters, so here’s hoping those were a sign of things to come.

Kurt Kitayama (270/1): Quail Hollow is a course made for those who can bomb the ball of the tee, so we’ll toss some lunch money on Kurt Kitayama, who ranks 11th on the PGA Tour in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee.

Kitayama is coming off a T5 finish at the CJ Cup, and has a couple of respectable finishes at Quail Hollow in his last two trips to this track.

Betting on golf?

Phil Mickelson (400/1): Why not?

Phil Mickelson showed us in 2021 that he still had some magic left in his locker, and there’s no better place for Lefty to shock us again than Quail Hollow.

Mickelson has played this course 14 times in his career and has finished inside the top 12 on 10 occasions, including four top-5 results.
