Bengals’ Shemar Stewart joined by another Cincinnati rookie in rough contract saga

The Cincinnati Bengals' rookies reported to training camp on Saturday.

Well, most of them.

First-round rookie Shemar Stewart still isn't there as he awaits a compromise on his contract.

ESPN's Adam Schefter shared the news Saturday morning that Stewart isn't in attendance, not necessarily an update but just a reminder.

"Bengals rookies report to training camp today with Cincinnati’s first-round pick Shemar Stewart now being the lone unsigned first-round pick from this year’s draft class," Schefter wrote.

The ESPN insider then pointed out that second-round rookie Demetrius Knight also isn't signed in Cincinnati.

Many second-rounders have finally signed deals in recent days, with more guaranteed money than usual for second-round picks after an almost round-wide standoff.

But Knight, like Stewart, hasn't yet reached common ground with the Bengals.

It doesn't seem like the tone you'd want to start training camp with, but it's the way things are going in Cincinnati.
