For the Cincinnati Bengals to be the team they're looking to be next season, it's going to start with keeping guys like Joe Burrow healthy.
The Bengals have made the necessary moves to improve on both sides of the football this offseason, though again, Burrow staying healthy will be the biggest priority. If the Bengals don't have their quarterback ready to go, not much will change.
Not only did one Sports Illustrated writer predict that the Bengals' star is going to stay healthy, but they also predicted that he was going to win the MVP.
They added that the Bengals' schedule will be a factor, as it's among the worst in the NFL.
“Either in print or online, I have predicted Joe Burrow to be the NFL’s MVP every year since 2022. This Mayan Calendar/End of Civilization approach is bound to be correct at some point. And each year I seem to be able to intellectualize it.
“But this year? C’mon. Cincinnati has the fourth-easiest schedule in the NFL, has maybe two daunting out-of-division road games, depending on how good the Commanders are, and a defense that can finally play complementary football and help the Bengals hold onto some of their leads. This is officially the last time I am picking Burrow to win the MVP award. I promise. And I hope that his victory provides a finality to our long, national nightmare (and a new MVP projection in 2027),” Connor Orr of SI wrote.
Burrow winning the MVP wouldn't really be that surprising considering what he's done throughout his career. He definitely has all the talent and weapons around him to win an MVP Award.
The only question for him is whether he can stay on the field to actually put up the counting stats that are needed to do so. Regardless, I don't think Burrow and the Bengals are too worried about MVP awards and are more focused on winning games right now.
