Bella Thorne Shares Update on Mark Emms' Wedding 2 Years After Engagement (Exclusive)

Bella Thorne’s new look will have you texting your friends TTYLXOX.

After all, the Disney alum’s latest hair transformation is a total nod to her Shake It Up days, as she returned from her dark brown tresses to her iconic red ringlets.

And the 28-year-old had no trouble relating her refreshed look back to her Disney days, making a nod to the film Brave, which stars a ginger princess. As she wrote in the May 10 string of selfies, “Merida down in this b---hhhhhh.”

In a later Instagram Story shared May 12, Bella revealed she played a major hand in her makeover, adding, “Did you know I actually dyed my own hair…who wants to see the video?”

Undoubtedly, Bella—who starred in her Disney dancing series alongside Zendaya from 2010 to 2013—has been feeling a bit nostalgic lately, as she went through several of her aesthetic eras just last month, with especially attention to the times space her hair was red.

“Just at the start of Shake It Up Bella,” the Midnight Sun actress said in an April 14 video alongside a photo of her earliest Disney headshot, taken when she was just 12 years old. “She was so innocent. She had barely lived a life at this point. Oh, she had no idea what was to come.”

But she admitted one thing that the young version of her had already figured out—cutting to a photo of herself taken just a few years later.

“I love this version of my red hair,” Bella, who was still rocking a brunette look at the time, said. “Like, this is when I think red was the best color. It just looks so nice on my skin tone.”

Instagram

Although Bella is dipping back into her past for her latest look, she is just as excited about her present. After getting engaged to fiancé Mark Emms in 2023, she recently told E! News why the couple—who met in 2022—are in no rush to tie the knot.

We're making our love child, which is this movie we just made together that I wrote and directed," she explained in December. "I think once we're done with this movie—completion and editing, and everything and press—and then we do Spring Breakers."

And only once the sequel to the iconic 2012 film is complete? Bella assured a wedding will quickly follow. As she put it, “Then we will have the brain capacity to think and really do it right.”
