Belgium stocks higher at close of trade; BEL 20 up 0.58%

Investing.com – Belgium stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.

At the close in Brussels, the added 0.58%.

The best performers of the session on the were Elia (EBR:), which rose 3.05% or 2.50 points to trade at 84.40 at the close. Meanwhile, Melexis NV (EBR:) added 2.39% or 1.35 points to end at 57.80 and Galapagos NV (AS:) was up 2.17% or 0.56 points to 26.38 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were UCB SA (EBR:), which fell 2.57% or 4.70 points to trade at 178.00 at the close. Syensqo SA (EBR:) declined 1.00% or 0.76 points to end at 75.09 and Solvay SA (EBR:) was down 0.32% or 0.10 points to 31.41.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Brussels Stock Exchange by 64 to 33 and 9 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.29% or 7.45 to $2,579.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.25% or 0.17 to hit $68.60 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.29% or 0.21 to trade at $72.49 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.02% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.83.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 106.50.
