The story of the 2025 Chicago Bears will be all about how young quarterback Caleb Williams does in year two.
Chicago made sure to get Williams an offensive-minded head coach in Ben Johnson, and now the sky should be the limit for the young quarterback.
One way a young quarterback can succeed in the NFL is by having a great defense that forces stops and gives the offense more opportunities with the ball.
The Bears should have one of the best defenses this season, which means a handful of veterans who have been on the roster for a few years could lose their jobs.
Bryan Perez from Bears On SI thinks one of the players who could lose their job this season is defensive tackle Gervon Dexter.

"Dexter was selected in the second round of the 2023 NFL Draft mostly because of his upside and traits. He didn't produce like a second-round pick during his college days at Florida, but he showed steady progression in 2024. He finished last year with five sacks in 15 games," Perez wrote. "However, the additions of Grady Jarrett and Shemar Turner have made his status and position unclear. Dexter should get starter's reps to begin training camp, but if he doesn't start making good on his scouting report, he could quickly find himself coming off the bench instead of lining up with first-teamers."
In two seasons with the Bears, Dexter has recorded 7.5 sacks in 32 games.
If Dexter wants to keep his job for this season, he will need to have a great training camp this summer.
