Will the Chicago Bears add some more depth to the defense?
Chicago's defense could use a boost and the Bears reportedly are working out former Pittsburgh Steelers, Philadelphia Eagles, Tennessee Titans, and Jacksonville Jaguars safety Terrell Edmunds, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
"Family reunion? The Bears are working out veteran (free agent) (safety) Terrell Edmunds today, source said," Rapoport said. "The former first-rounder has played for the Steelers and Jaguars this season. If he signs, he'd join his brother Tremaine, Chicago’s Pro Bowl (linebacker)."
The Bears clearly need to make a change if they want to get back on track. Chicago has lost four straight games after a 4-2 start to the campaign. The Bears now sit at 4-6 and are in last place in the NFC North.
Edmunds was selected in the first round of the 2018 National Football League Draft by the Steelers and spent the first five seasons of his career in Pittsburgh. He spent time with the Eagles and Titans in 2023 and has spent time both with the Steelers and Jaguars this season.
The 27-year-old former first-round pick still is available and it could make a lot of sense for the Bears to bring him him. Chicago clearly already has a connection to him with his brother and they need to make some sort of move to hopefully turn the defense around.
Maybe adding Edmunds could be a step in the right direction.
