Bears' Colston Loveland makes NFL history never done by a rookie tight end before

Some questioned whether Colston Loveland should've been the first tight end chosen in the 2025 NFL Draft.

When the Chicago Bears drafted him at No. 10 overall out of Michigan, there were those who preferred Penn State's Tyler Warren, who ended up going 14th to the Colts.

Warren had a great rookie season and looks like a future star.

Loveland started slow and raised the volume of the questions higher.

But in the end, Loveland closed his rookie season in incredibly strong fashion. His future is clearly bright, too.

In the process, he set an NFL record. No rookie tight end had ever had more receiving yards in a single postseason than Loveland's 193 -- and that's in just two games.

After not surpassing 40 yards in the first six games of his rookie season, Loveland had 40 or more yards in 9-of-12 games the rest of the way.

That included 118 yards and a winning touchdown in a wild win over the Bengals, then 94 and 91 yards in the last two games of the regular season, then 137 yards in the Wild Card Round win over the Packers.

Loveland shapes up to be one of Caleb Williams' favorite targets for years to come.
