Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams is breaking his silence regarding the coverage he's receiving during training camp.

The most talked-about moment from the 23-year-old came during a fast-paced throwing challenge where he had to hit targets in a net. Williams struggled with accuracy, and his emotional reaction caught everyone's attention.

On Friday, Williams appeared on 670 The Score in Chicago and was asked about the coverage he's been receiving from the media and whether the Bears star believes it's fair or not.

"Fair isn't my job to judge," Williams said. "But I wouldn't say there's always truth to reports that come out, typically, to be honest with you. We're in practice, we're in training camp. We didn't maybe score as many points or win as many games last year.

"But some of these reports, yes, they are a little false, especially after a year that I had last year. And so it's all right. It's everybody's job, and everybody has a job to do. My job is to go win games. Your job may be to report and critique — good, bad, or indifferent. And there's no judge for either side."

Heading into Year 2 and under new head coach Ben Johnson, Williams does have pressure to take the next step in his development. Moreover, with an offensive-minded coach like Johnson, who played a role in helping Jared Goff find his footing with the Detroit Lions.

Williams and Co. will need to keep ironing out the challenges that come with learning a new offense during practice and the preseason. Nonetheless, once Week 1 rolls around against the Minnesota Vikings, any troubles that linger over to the regular season could be costly.

Nonetheless, by his remarks, Williams isn't letting the outside noise get to him and it will be needed as there could be growing pains to start the season.
